Candle Care Guide
To utilize the full benefits of a candle, you have to learn how to take care of it.
Trimming of the wick:
The recommended trimming of a wick is 3/16th of an inch (0.25”). Wooden wicks perform best when they are nice and closer to the wax. Please keep in mind to re-trim your wick before every use and not just the first time you light your candle.
Keep the wax pool free of matches, wick trimmings, matches and debris.
Now it's time to burn the candle:
When you first light your candle, be sure to let it burn for 2 -4 hours, or until the wax has melted to the edge of the jar (full melt pool). If you do not do this, your candle will tunnel. Tunnel-ling means that the wick is burning straight down the center of the candle without creating a full melt pool within the hours of it being lit.
If by chance a full melt pool has not occurred after 4 hours, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool and try again. Wooden wick candles need a lot of tending to, for an enjoyable experience.
You can also use a spoon to scoop unmelted wax into the wax pool.
The more you burn your candle, the more the wax melts. A full melt pool would have been achieved when you’ve burned your candle half way through.
Return or reuse your candle vessel
Whenever you are done burning your candle, remove the remaining wax and wash your vessel with soap and warm water. And just like that, you now have a new candy jar, spare change jar, makeup brush holder, planter or drinking glass. Whatever your preferences, you can reuse the jar to your liking.
Can’t find any use for it? No worries, email us at info@mimisperfection.com for instructions on how to send us the empty vessel and you would get 10% off your next order.
PLEASE pay attention to your candle
